The first item that you need to get hooked up to the Internet is a list of ISP's (Internet Service Providers). Here is a good place to begin. . .The List located at: http://www.thelist.com.
Once you have found your favorite service provider, the next item on your list is . . . hardware of course! Check out the FAQs section at Infinite Ink's Getting Connected
Now, what is item number three? How do you get there from here! You have got to learn a little about URLs (Uniform Resource Locators).
What in the world is a URL? URLs are the addresses for the sites on the internet. A URL is sort of like a U.S. Post Office address. It is used to tell your computer browser what route or direction it must take to take you to your information super highway destination. Check out A Beginner's Guide to URLs
Ok, now you have to find a software tool that will get you where you want to go. This instrument is call a browser. A browser is used for viewing the World-Wide Web pages on the Internet. To find the latest in browsers HomeMoney recommends that you take a visit to BrowserWatch ( http://www.browserwatch.com)for the latest about what you will need and where you will get it. While on the trip, stop by Plug-In Plaza, where you will find links to all of the plug-ins available on the net. Like every thing else, there are certain "rules of the road". The Internet is no different. Before you start "cruise'n" the WWW you might check out Netiquette.(http://rs6000.adm.fau.edu/rinaldi/net/index.htm) Well, lets see now. We have everything we need to get us where we are going. . . now all that we need is a place to go.
Put on your seat belts and get ready to ride. Check out these favorite search engines. . . and remember that there are a few hundred more where these came from. For over 510+ Search Services check out our newest site called "web-site-marketer" at

| What is this HTML stuff all about?
HTML is an acronym for hypertext Markup Language. It is a text file with special codes, or tags that are inserted inside greater/less than symbols.
If you're using Netscape, MS-Internet Explorer, or any other of your favorite browser, just click on 'View' and 'Source' to see the HTML file that you are currently reading. To help you with your project, there are several HTML editors available as shareware on the Internet. Three in particular that can be well recommended are HotDog (http://www.sausage.com/), and Netscape (http://www.netscape.com/)Navigator Gold v2.0.
The following links are great starting points to learn everything you wanted to know about HTML, but where afraid to ask: NCSA Beginner's Guide to HTML (http://www.ncsa.uiuc.edu/General/Internet/WWW/HTMLPrimer.html)-This one is A MUST FOR READING if you are just starting.
